nxp-1.pngNXP Semiconductors NV, a pioneer of near field communication (NFC), has announced a new era of near field communication (NFC) technology with the launch of its PN5180 solution, bringing intuitive, non-contact technology to the mainstream.
The PN5180 is the most advanced multi-protocol NFC interface chip (ISO/IEC 15693, Felica, MIFARE and ISO/IEC 14443A/B) that guarantees high performance, reliable and stable operation even under adverse conditions. Based on the successful PN512, new PN5180 has four times increased output power and enables to provide advanced contactless payment readers without any additional amplifiers.
“NFC is increasingly being implemented in new, more demanding applications. Today, transport terminals must support EMV-based payment systems and be able to interoperate with new payment and transport cards such as NFC phones, wearables, and even rings. Therefore, the requirements for performance, reliability and compatibility are constantly increasing, - said Pradip Mistry, vice president of R&D at Cubic Transportation Systems. “NXP has taken NFC to the next level with the PN5180 solution and its new dynamic power control and adaptive signal conditioning features. This allows us to provide an unsurpassed level of quality for our end users.”
